Privacy contact
For questions about this website’s handling of personal information, privacy rights requests or withdrawing your consent, email info@packyourportfolio.com. This is the privacy contact for Pack Your Portfolio. Providing this contact does not appoint a financial planner or subscribe you to marketing.
Who this notice covers
This notice explains how Pack Your Portfolio handles information when you read our publication, use our tools, report an error, subscribe or request an introduction. Pack Your Portfolio is an editorial publication and introduction service. It is not a regulated financial advisory firm. A planner or advisory firm you engage has its own privacy notice and responsibilities.
Information you choose to provide
An eligible inquiry requires your name, email address, phone number, current country, intended destination, financial eligibility bands, planning stage, expected timing and a description of your situation containing 50 to 2,000 characters. These details help us assess and respond to your introduction request. Exact asset balances are not needed for the eligibility questions. A planning scenario remains optional and is included only if you separately choose to attach it. We record the submission time, page, edition, consent wording and version, and delivery status. Please do not upload or paste account numbers, passwords, identity documents, health records or information about other people without appropriate authority.
Tools and temporary browser storage
Interactive planning calculations run in your browser. We do not automatically send your asset map or budget to an advisor or to an AI service. A scenario carried into an inquiry uses session storage in the same browser tab. The application stops accepting that draft after one hour; browser storage may remain until the tab is closed or cleared. The inquiry includes it only if you select the separate attachment checkbox. Downloads stay wherever you save them, under your control.
Enquiries and introductions
By submitting an inquiry request and selecting the introduction checkbox, you ask Pack Your Portfolio to help connect you with a suitably qualified advisor from a firm appropriately regulated for the relevant services. The checkbox asks you to confirm: “I request that Pack Your Portfolio connect me with a suitably qualified advisor from an appropriately regulated firm. I consent to my inquiry details being used to assess my request and contact me by email or phone. The proposed firm will be identified, and my confirmation obtained, before my details are shared externally. I can withdraw by emailing info@packyourportfolio.com. This does not subscribe me to marketing.” We use your submitted information to check the initial financial criteria, understand your circumstances and respond about your requested introduction. Only information needed for an introduction should be shared after you confirm the named firm. Financial eligibility does not establish suitability or guarantee an introduction, appointment or acceptance by a firm. This request does not appoint an advisor, authorise an investment transaction or agree to any advice fees. A planner may collect further information directly under its own privacy notice. You can withdraw your request through info@packyourportfolio.com; this does not undo lawful processing already carried out.
Subscriptions and corrections
Briefing subscriptions are a separate choice. We retain your email, chosen edition, consent record and initial subscription time. Agreeing to an inquiry does not subscribe you to marketing. Marketing emails must offer a way to unsubscribe. Correction reports contain your message, optional supporting link, tool or page and dataset version. Your financial tool inputs are not automatically attached. Avoid personal information in correction reports.
Purposes and lawful grounds
Where UK or EU data protection law applies, the intended grounds are your consent for responding to an introduction request, optional scenario sharing and briefing subscriptions; and legitimate interests in running, protecting and improving the publication, handling corrections and keeping necessary accountability records. These interests must be balanced against your rights. We may also retain information where a legal obligation requires it. Withdrawing consent does not undo lawful earlier processing.
Hosting, security and other providers
Cloudflare hosts this website, stores form submissions in its D1 database and handles incoming email forwarding and consultation-request email notifications. A consultation notification contains the details you submitted, including a planning scenario only when you separately choose to attach it. Notifications are sent to our private inquiry inbox; its email provider also processes those messages. This internal notification is separate from an introduction to an external planner. Infrastructure may process IP addresses, browser information and access or security logs. The application uses a short-lived hashed IP-based rate-limit key to reduce abuse; expired rate-limit entries are removed on later requests. Hosting logs are separate. Authorised people handling inquiries and editorial reports may access relevant submissions. GitHub and Pages CMS hold website content and editorial data, not a public repository of visitor inquiries.
Cookies, fonts and external sites
The application does not currently include advertising trackers or behavioral advertising analytics. It uses browser session storage for optional planning handoffs. Hosting and authentication may use their own cookies or storage. Fonts and destination images are served from our own website assets. Loading the page does not request fonts from Google. External source links, registers and provider websites have their own notices. If optional analytics or advertising technologies are introduced, this notice and any required consent controls must be updated before use.
International processing
Hosting, email and other service providers may process information outside the country where you live. Selecting the UK or US edition does not guarantee storage in that country. Where applicable law requires safeguards for a restricted transfer, those safeguards must apply, such as an appropriate adequacy arrangement or contractual protection. A general inquiry checkbox is not a blanket waiver of international-transfer protections. The arrangements applicable to a proposed introduction must be explained before you confirm it.
Retention and deletion
Information should be kept only while needed to handle a request, manage a subscription, resolve an issue or meet a justified legal or recordkeeping obligation. Relevant factors include whether an inquiry remains active, when it was last discussed, whether a complaint is outstanding and whether a record is legally required. Where a limited record must be retained, we will explain the reason; backups and provider logs may follow separate retention cycles.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the law that applies, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to certain processing, and withdraw consent. We may request proportionate information to verify your identity and protect someone else’s data. Rights and exceptions vary by jurisdiction. Where applicable, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner or your local data protection authority. US privacy rights depend on the relevant state law and whether its applicability conditions are met. Nothing here limits rights granted by applicable law.
Eligibility screening, children and changes
The financial screen uses the bands you select to indicate whether an introduction request can proceed. It does not approve credit, execute a transaction or provide an investment recommendation. Contact us if an answer was entered incorrectly or you want a person to review the inquiry process. The service is intended for adults aged 18 or over. Please contact us if a child has submitted personal data. We will date material changes to this notice and seek a fresh choice where a new purpose requires it.
