The publication and these terms
Pack Your Portfolio publishes relocation guides, articles, resources and illustrative planning tools, and helps readers request introductions to independent wealth planners. These terms explain that service and its limits.
We are a publisher and introducer
Pack Your Portfolio is not a regulated entity or financial advisory firm. We do not provide regulated investment advice, arrange or execute investment transactions, manage portfolios, hold client money or take custody of assets through this website. Any regulated advice or service must be provided by a separately identified firm with the appropriate permissions. References to planners, professional qualifications or financial regulators describe the standards expected of referred professionals, not authorization or endorsement of this publication.
General information, not a personal recommendation
Articles, comparisons, diagrams and tool results are educational. They are not financial, investment, tax, legal, immigration or accounting advice for your circumstances. Entering personal assumptions into a tool does not turn its output into advice or establish suitability. A structure shown as something to investigate may be unsuitable, unavailable or disadvantageous for you. Do not open, transfer, surrender or restructure an investment, pension, company or trust, or change residence, solely because of a result on this website.
Illustrations, costs and source data
Tools simplify complex rules and use a limited set of inputs. They may omit reliefs, restrictions, reporting obligations, tax interactions, transaction charges or implementation costs. Estimates and scenario figures are not quotations, guaranteed savings or forecasts. Investments can lose value. Source links and review dates help you inspect our assumptions; they do not guarantee accuracy or continued validity. Historical spending surveys describe their stated population and period, not the current cost of your lifestyle. Household definitions and included expenses differ between sources. No currency conversion or inflation adjustment should be assumed unless expressly shown.
Your use of the tools
Check currencies, periods and assumptions, and correct your inputs before relying on an illustration in a discussion. Avoid counting an expense twice when adding items to a published household spending figure. You are responsible for deciding what information to enter and what optional scenario to share. Custom or foreign assets may be recorded for discussion without being analyzed. Tax residence, citizenship, pension classification, treaty eligibility and the availability of any proposed structure require individual professional assessment. A label such as tax-free in a source does not establish your personal tax outcome.
Requesting an introduction
Submitting an inquiry asks us to consider an introduction. It does not appoint a planner, establish an advisory relationship or guarantee an appointment, acceptance or service availability. The UK initial criteria are at least £1 million in investable wealth or £35,000 monthly income. The US criteria are at least US$1.5 million in investable wealth or US$50,000 monthly income. These are separate edition criteria, not an exchange-rate calculation. Financial eligibility alone says nothing about whether a product or service is suitable. We may need to clarify your location, requirements and the provider’s ability to serve you.
The standards we require of planners
Our introduction standards require an appropriately authorized firm for the relevant regulated service, suitably qualified professionals and experience relevant to the client’s international circumstances. The intended checks include the applicable public register, permissions, qualifications, cross-border service scope, transparent fees, conflicts and a complaints process. These standards are not a regulator’s approval of our publication. Specific firms and individuals, their credentials and the checks relevant to your introduction must be identified before you engage them. CFP certification and firm authorization are different matters; neither guarantees investment returns or expertise in every country.
Check the provider and its responsibilities
For UK regulated services, check the FCA register and the firm’s permissions. For US investment advice, check the applicable SEC or state registration and disclosures. Registration is not an endorsement, and not every US advisor is SEC-registered. A firm authorized in one jurisdiction is not automatically permitted to provide every service in another. The provider should explain which entity will contract with you, its service scope, charges, custody arrangements, conflicts and applicable protections. Tax, legal or immigration work may require a separate professional.
Fees, commercial relationships and choice
A planner’s advice and implementation services may carry charges under a separate agreement. Ask for written fees before committing. Any introduction payment, commission or other material commercial relationship applicable to your referral must be disclosed before you agree to the introduction. We do not claim to compare the whole market or to offer an independent recommendation of the best provider. You remain free to decline an introduction or choose another professional.
Your information and communications
The privacy notice explains forms, browser storage and optional scenario sharing. Requesting an introduction and subscribing to a briefing are separate choices. Do not submit confidential documents, account credentials or information you are not entitled to share. Submitting a request is not confirmation that an advisor has received it. An appointment or engagement requires separate confirmation.
Content, external links and acceptable use
Unless otherwise indicated, the publication’s original content and design are protected by applicable intellectual property rights. You may read, link to and download resources made available for personal use. Third-party photographs, datasets and linked material remain subject to their respective rights and terms. Do not misrepresent our material as a personal recommendation, remove source context or republish substantial content without permission. Do not disrupt the website, evade access controls, submit malicious code, impersonate others or misuse inquiry and correction forms. External links are provided for reference; their availability and content are outside our control.
Availability, corrections and responsibility
We aim to provide useful, accurate information and may correct, replace or withdraw material and tools. We cannot promise uninterrupted availability or that every rule change will be captured immediately. Please use the correction-report feature with the relevant page and supporting source, without including personal information. We do not guarantee a saving, financial outcome, visa, residence status or introduction. Any limitation of responsibility applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable, or any other liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
Complaints, disputes and updates
Complaints about advice or regulated services should also be directed to the contracting provider under its complaints procedure. Access to an ombudsman or compensation scheme depends on the entity, service and your eligibility; it does not arise simply from visiting this website. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected. We will date updates to these terms. Continued browsing is not consent to an unrelated new use of personal data.
